Danny is one of the Europe’s pioneers in online media and marketing. More than 45,000 people have attended his lectures and training courses since he became involved in digital strategy in the early 90s. He's best known for helping launch the Interactive Advertising Bureau in the UK, and then across Europe where he was re-elected as president four times and then appointed CEO.
In the mid 90s he was the publisher of the UK's first online newspaper www.Telegraph.co.uk where he stewarded it to win Newspaper of the Year repeatedly. He has helped run web businesses ranging from mass market portals and consumer magazines, to online stores and search, directory and email services.
He has been recognized by the DTI as being one of the 100 founders of the UK internet industry, and acknowledged by trade magazines many times as being one of the most influential figures in his industry. He helped with the launch of BBC’s News 24, co-producing BBC Television's first internet packages.
He has acted as a government advisor in the DTI and Home Office, and retains roles on advisory boards for digital investment funds and digital firms. He has been lecturing on digital marketing and publishing for more than a decade and was awarded Fellowships of the Institute of Direct Marketing, and the Royal Society of Arts.
He set up Digital Strategy Consulting in 2000 to help media groups and consumer brands make sense of the rapid changes in content and marketing, and set up the Digital Training Academy management coaching school in 2004 to coach teams of publishers and marketers on how to get digital communications right.
Recently he was appointed an inaugural Commissioner for the digital content industry’s regulator, the DMC.
