Danny Meadows-Klue has been with the web industry from the start. He got bitten by the digital bug at the end of the 80s while training as a journalist, watching the early Macs kick out rusty typewriters at papers across London. As a radio producer he saw how the introduction of digital cartridge systems changed the model for programming and content. As a publishing strategist for the Daily Express group he saw how fax broadcasting and digital channels changed the model for content delivery. And in 1995 he was brought in by The Daily Telegraph (www.telegraph.co.uk) to help nurture the UK’s first online newspaper, Telegraph.co.uk.

In the decade that followed he co-founded the UK and European IABs and was elected their president four times before serving as the first chief executive with both for four years. He went on to help launch more than 20 digital trade associations and initiatives as far afield as Mexico and New Zealand. He helped the BBC with the launch of the first digital news room and network - News 24 - and produced their first internet programmes for television. His brands have won more than a dozen awards and the UK government credited him with being one of the sector’s creators.

Alongside the UK’s leading news websites, he has helped run search engines, online stores, email services, web magazines, portals, e-learning firms, working as a European Vice-President for NBC’s Internet divisions as well as a director of Hollinger Telegraph. He has acted as a political advisor to several British ministers, and his Digital Strategy Consulting practice is retained by VC firms and start-ups to advise on acceleration.

Danny’s passion has always been in education and more than 40,000 people have attended his talks and training. He has helped develop many post-graduate degrees and diplomas, and taught digital marketing in more than 20 countries.
