Barclays has launched an app that lets users transfer money via their mobile phone. The service is available for free to any current account holder in the UK, not just Barclays' customers. Users can send money between bank accounts, without sharing bank details, in a similar way as a text message with just a mobile phone number.

Orange and Barclaycard have launched ‘Quick Tap’, a contactless mobile payment service which allows consumers to make purchases on the high street using their mobile phone for the first time.
