Most Daily Deal customers ‘remain loyal to brand after deal’

The majority (91%) of customers that use a brand via a daily deal site such as Groupon have returned for more business, or are planning to do so, according to new research. While there has been some argument about the impact of daily deal offers on new business, according to the ForeSee survey, daily deal offers do increase business awareness, purchases, and repeat purchases.

Social Media ‘drives just 3% of retail site visits’

Social media interactions are a primary influence for just three percent of visitors to e-retail websites in the UK, according to new research. The findings, from ForeSee Results indicated that more traditional marketing techniques are better drivers to retailers’ web sites, with search engine results influencing 13 percent of visitors and promotional emails influencing 10 percent.

Amazon and come first for customer satisfaction

The new Top 30 UK Online Retail Satisfaction Index from Foresee Results has found that British customers has found that Amazon and offer the most satisfying online shopping experience, writes Netimperative. The study compared the top 30 online retailers in the UK and measured Functionality, Price, Merchandise and Content. Amazon UK (up 3 points) and (up two points) both scored 78 to come first followed by eBay (72 points), Apple iTunes UK (71 points) and Screwfix (71 points). Both HMV (69 points) and Marks and Spencer (68 points) dropped out of the top performers list. Overall, availability and variety of merchandise has the most impact on results, while content has the least effect.
The survey also identified that British consumers seem to be far less satisfied with online retailers than their US counterparts with the UK and US achieving total aggregate scores of 67 points and 74 points respectively.
