Ecommerce sales reach £50bn: Brits spent £1,500 each online in 2011

Online sales in the UK are predicted to increase 14% and continue to hit high streets, according to new research. The study, from shopping search engine Kelkoo, indicates that online shoppers spent nearly £1,500 each on products last year, totaling £50bn in 2011. UK online retail trade made up 12% of total spending, the highest in Europe according to a report.

Shoppers warned not to 'drink and click' this Christmas

Over two-fifths (43%) of Brits have ordered goods online to be delivered by parcel delivery services when under the influence of alcohol, according to a new poll. The survey from price comparison site Kelkoo also found that 39 per cent admit they will do some of this year's Christmas shopping after a few drinks.

Kelkoo plans to retake online shopping crown with revamp

Kelkoo has revamped its shopping and travel comparison site with a raft of new partners as it looks to become ‘the best shopping and travel comparison site in Europe’. The move follows consumer research and a site re-design which will be completed across all markets by the end of October. Both the travel and shopping brands have undergone an overhaul with the shopping website recently adding brands such as very.co.uk, Isme.co.uk and Gameplay.co.uk.
