Broadcaster Sky has launched its Sky Go app on Android, giving smartphone users access to its web TV service. The Sky Go Android app is currently available for what Sky describes as “the most popular handsets,” such as the HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S2. The app is free and gives Sky customers live access to the Sky Sports channels, the Sky Movies channels, ESPN and Sky News - depending on what they subscribe to - via their mobile at no extra cost.

Google and News Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch have become embroiled in a war of words after the media tycoon accused the internet giant of being a ‘piracy leader’. The News Corporation chairman tweeted that Google "streams movies free" and "sells [adverts] around them". In response, Google said that it fought pirates and counterfeiters "every day".
