EE reveals 4G pricing in UK

Mobile operator EE has announced the prices for its 4G service, with prices starting from £36 per month. The service, the first of its kind to be commercially available in the UK, will come with no limit on domestic calls and texts. However, customers on this plan will only have a data allowance of 500MB, at which point net access is stopped unless a data add-on is bought.

EE to charge 4G customers extra £5 per month?

EE, the new mobile network set up by Orange and T-Mobile, is planning to charge customers about £5 per month on top of current contract costs to connect to its 4G network, according to a news report. The Times reports that the network, which goes live on October 30 , has admitted that it will charge a premium for 4G, which is up to ten times faster than existing mobile networks.

Everything Everywhere promises 4G in UK by Christmas

Mobile operator Everything Everywhere has unveiled the UK's first fourth generation (4G) phone service. The move will see Everything Everywhere launch a new network brand that will represent its 4G LTE coverage, called ‘EE’. The EE network will carry 4G coverage over the network’s 1800MHz spectrum, which Ofcom has given the green light for the operator to use.

Mastercard inks mobile wallet deal with Everything Everywhere

Everything Everywhere, which operates the T-Mobile and Orange brands in the UK, has signed an five-year partnership deal with MasterCard to develop and provide mobile payments services. The deal will see a co-branded service that lets users top up their account, then make payments by swiping their phone on a reader in a store.

4G finally coming to UK this September?

High speed mobile internet is coming to the UK next month, after network Everything Everywhere was given the go-ahead to roll out 4G technology across the country. Everything Everywhere, the parent company of Orange and T-Mobile, has been allowed to launch the next generation mobile network anytime after September this year. Ofcom gives green light to 4G in UK

Ofcom has provisionally given the greenlight to T-Mobile and Orange’s joint company Everything Everywhere, to use its existing 1800MHz radio spectrum in order to rollout 4G mobile broadband based on either LTE or WiMAX. 4G (fourth generation portable internet) will help resolve all the woes users had with its predecessor, 3G such as patchy connections, super slow speeds and not enough coverage when it comes to rural areas.

Orange and T-Mobile ‘Everything Everywhere’ mobile broadband to get 50% faster

Everything Everywhere, the mobile broadband joint venture from Orange and T-Mobile, has launched a nationwide HSPA+ (3.5G) network, claiming it will provide 50 percent fasterdata speeds for customers. The nationwide roll out of HSPA+ 21, or 3.5G, has already reached 60 percent of the network, Everything Everywhere said.

Deezer expands music streaming to 100 countries after Facebook pact

French music streaming service Deezer is set to launch in over 100 countries by the end of the year, following its partnership with Facebook. Speaking to Reuters, Chief Executive Axel Dauchez said that Deezer's approach differed from its rivals, such as U.S.-based Pandora and Sweden's Spotify, because it had decided to avoid the US market because of the high costs and intense competition involved.

Orange and Barclaycard 'Quicktap' app turns mobiles into credit cards

Orange and Barclaycard have launched ‘Quick Tap’, a contactless mobile payment service which allows consumers to make purchases on the high street using their mobile phone for the first time. David Cameron backs Orange volunteering mobile app

Orange has launched a mobile volunteering iPhone app, backed by Prime Minister David Cameron as part of his ‘Big Society’ initiative. The ‘Do Some Good’ app allows volunteering through a mobile phone. The app will include twelve different charity ‘actions’ that consumers can complete anytime, with Orange committed to adding new actions throughout the year.
