Gmail app to sync with Outlook, Yahoo and other email rivals?

The Android version of the app will be updated in the coming weeks with support for Outlook, Yahoo and other types of non-Gmail email accounts.

Microsoft admits reading emails- Google and Apple reserve right to do the same

Microsoft to replace Hotmail with ‘Outlook.com’

Microsoft is phasing out its iconic Hotmail webmail service, replacing it with a new email service that combines elements of Exchange, Skype and Hotmail into one tool, as the software giant looks to regain market share lost to Google's Gmail. The revamped service will help sort messages as they arrive and allow users to make internet calls on Skype, and has been designed to tackle the problem of "cluttered" inboxes.

Mobile emails up 81% on last year

There has been an 81% growth in email activity on mobile, with viewership also increasing on tablets such as the iPad, according to new research. LinkedIn syncs up with Microsoft Outlook

LinkedIn and Microsoft have launched a new service allowing LinkedIn members to bring their professional network right into their Outlook Inbox. The new tool, called the LinkedIn Outlook Connector, can be accessed by LinkedIn in three steps to begin using their professional network within Outlook.

As soon as LinkedIn and Outlook are connected, Outlook will begin feeding in information about their LinkedIn network. Profile photos and LinkedIn activity for any connection that emails the member will start to appear. Members can see the latest activity for any LinkedIn connection who emails them right at the bottom of that email. See who they are connecting with, the articles they are reading and sharing, and the questions they are asking and answering.
