'Cheap holidays" is the most common key phrase used by travellers looking for holidays online, showing that cost is an increasingly important factor for holidaymakers, according to new research. Half of all European web users visit newspaper sites: Facebook links driving growth

Of the 379.4m Europeans who went online in November 2011, nearly half (47.8%) visited at least one newspaper site,, with a considerable number visiting the top 5 newspaper sites preceded by a visit to Facebook, according to new research. The study, from comScore, assessed Internet usage in 49 European markets aggregated into the European region. The Daily Mail attracted the largest online audience with 20.1m unique visitors, followed by the Guardian at 15.7m unique visitors.

Deezer expands music streaming to 100 countries after Facebook pact

French music streaming service Deezer is set to launch in over 100 countries by the end of the year, following its partnership with Facebook. Speaking to Reuters, Chief Executive Axel Dauchez said that Deezer's approach differed from its rivals, such as U.S.-based Pandora and Sweden's Spotify, because it had decided to avoid the US market because of the high costs and intense competition involved.
