Here's a quick summary...

Our clients need high level thinking and fast implementation. We focus on getting the right strategy for their products, websites, online commerce ventures and digital marketing. We do it fast, and with almost all our energy (and their budget) going into the project team. We structured the business to have low overheads, and for us to be very hands on - that means our clients get the senior consultant's time and energy from the start.

The approach means normally working in teams of 4: the project director (and lead consultant), a research manager, project manager and a support consultant. We keep the teams light and the focus is on our lead consultants to develop the ideas and thinking as well as turning this into language that shows the client-side team what to do and how to do it. We're big on knowledge transfer and the aim of each client project is that their team should be able to deliver without our input. The central team provide all the back office support you'll need, along with access to other consultants and specialists to help develop ideas further.

For Associates the work is intense and diverse. The UK accounts for about a third of our business and the rest is spread from New Zealand to Latin America, China to the USA.

Many Associates also teach with us at the Digital Training Academy.

Overview

You will be responsible for running the day to day project management and administration for website and Power Point content creation / updating / editing. This role would work across several of our websites including the Digital Training Academy, Digital Strategy Consulting and Netimperative, and includes content delivered in PowerPoint slide presentations.

Typical tasks include:

•	Recording change requests to content; managing workflow documentation that describes change requests
•	Briefing authors on requests to change content
•	Informing account managers of changes that have been made; providing status reports
•	Identifying gaps in material or requests outside of scope; anticipating any over-runs

This is not a technical project management role (although an understanding of the constraints and frameworks created by technology would be useful). We currently have our own simple project management processes so at present do not require you to hold any formal project management qualifications such as Prince 2 or be able to use Microsoft Project. The role would be ideal for someone currently working as a web production exec or content exec, maybe looking to expand their project management capability. It would be particularly relevant if you would like to gain more insight into process management and team management, develop a deeper understanding of elearning and/or grow into a junior project manager.

Key competencies:

•	Effective scheduling, prioritisation and time management skills, completing tasks effectively to tight deadlines
•	Strong attention to detail
•	Effective expectation management
•	Good PowerPoint and proficiency in Excel and Word
•	Good written communication skills
•	Ability to remain calm under pressure
•	Team oriented; our way of working is highly collaborative and you’ll be playing a supporting role in many projects
•	Flexible

…and brilliantly adept at standard office software: As a digital strategy team, we’re almost paperless (or at least striving to be).

About us

For over 10 years Digital Strategy Consulting has been helping global brands and online pureplays get their product, content and social media strategies right. We partner with large organisations to create or refine their digital strategy, develop the capability of their teams and deploy digital training programmes. We work with marketers who are at the top of their game in sectors including FMCG, pharma, finance, retail, children’s toys, technology and online media. From our base in London we work in 30 countries and are recognised as world class in accelerating brands and the teams behind them.

Overview

As our Finance Manager you will be responsible for the finance function, with the support of a finance controller and an external accountant. The role covers management accounts, Sage, book keeping and the preparation of quotes and invoicing.

Management accounts

The role is typical for management accounts in a medium sized consultancy or agency. It includes:
•	Preparation of monthly management accounts and forecasts for the Board
•	Month and year-end closedown procedures
•	Payroll and PAYE returns: salaries, PAYE, commissions, staff benefits and pensions
•	Co-ordinating and recommending improvements in the budget process
•	Monthly working capital reporting
•	Other occasional ad hoc tasks

Sage and book keeping

This part of the role includes the management of our invoicing and payment processes using systems already established. As a professional services firm, the volume of invoicing is low. Sage Line 50 with project codes has been used for several years.
•	Invoice generation from sales ledger
•	Debtor chasing using detailed, agreed and established processes
•	Creditor payments using simple agreed and established processes (purchase order system is not in place)
•	Cost allocations to projects and overhead budgets using agreed and established
•	Petty cash and banking
•	Preparing weekly bank reconciliations, and occasional BACS payments,
•	Manager employee expenses, company credit card expenses - reconciliation and management
•	Directors cash expenses - reconciliation and payment

Your profile

The role would suit someone who is organized, accurate, customer focused and proactive. You’ll be an effective problem solver, and able to work on your own executing and improving our processes. You’ll be a team player with a positive attitude and able to contribute enthusiastically in management discussions. As you’ll form the majority of the finance function, you’ll need to be an excellent self-manager, though you will have support from an administrative executive when needed as well as transitional support over the first few months after joining.

Qualifications, systems and experience

Candidates must have a good knowledge and in-depth recent experience in the use of Sage Line 50 with project coding - preferably Version 2008 or later – and be an experienced Microsoft Excel user.
•	A level Maths or higher qualification is required.
•	Good A level grades in other subjects are preferred.
•	Experience in a marketing agency or training organisation is preferable though not essential.
•	As we are a management consultancy developing digital strategies and digital training solutions, we find that all our team members need to be graduates or graduate calibre.

About us

For over 10 years Digital Strategy Consulting has been helping global brands and online pureplays get their product, content and social media strategies right.
Digital Training Academy – Covent Garden, London (with significant travel) (United Kingdom)

This is a rare opportunity for an international event management / training role inside a world class boutique digital strategy consultancy. You’ll be running leading edge training events out in the field with as part of a smart, fun, high energy team. Working with a lead tutor both in the UK and overseas, you’ll be responsible for the management of each event, from the set-up of the room to the completion of feedback forms at the end of the programme. From London you’ll be supported by teams who manage learner participation and attendance, arrange the venue and travel, ship materials, and brief participants and their sponsors. You’ll work with some of the smartest people in the marketing industry, from some of the world’s leading brands, in an environment famed for excellence.

The subject matter for these programmes combines business strategy, marketing strategy and digital strategy. Your Lead Tutor will be a world class expert in the subject matter, so while knowledge of marketing, training or business process would be useful, it’s in no way needed for the role.

Core activities and goals

Before the training: Course logistics when you arrive on site

Liaising with the client and venue team once you arrive to ensure that venue is setup according to the course requirements briefing from the Training Ops team. This is to ensure it will provide a great learning environment and make things run as smoothly as possible for the Tutor when they are in market; this includes room layout, audio and video equipment, internet access, training materials, catering arrangements. Ensuring that all learners and stakeholder can find their places and materials. You’ll be responsible for setting up some of the materials the day before training and ensuring the room layout works for you. We’ll train you on how to run the courses, the key steps, and the materials.

During the training: Training facilitation support

You can support tutor by making sure that all course materials are ready in a timely manner, displaying supporting materials (such as online resources, video files, presentations) though not having to present the materials yourself. If in time your confidence with some of the materials grows then this would be a great way to build your own skills, but it is not intended to be part of the role. You will support the Lead Tutor by helping with small amounts of the facilitation on exercises by keeping the learners focused on their tasks, and keeping them within the planned time – something we’ll train you on. You’ll be monitoring course progress and helping ensure the tutor delivers all key course materials within the planned time. Showing ad hoc online relevant examples when time allows or when needed to reinforce leaning outcomes. A recommended list of web addresses and short explanations about when they could be relevant is provided.

After the training: Project management and record-keeping

We have a series of simple processes you’ll be trained on to ensure materials get to and from participants effectively after the training, and that we report back to client teams using the agreed structure. This includes accurate use of folders, filing, timesheeting, expenses, status report, contact report, contact detail management, tracking materials changes or updates etc. Some of the exercises are documented so will need photographing and moving into our shared folders while you are in the field (either during or soon after the event). You will assist the tutor with drafting a couple of the exercise reports in timely manner.

Account management

Your role will include dealing with learners queries in a positive and fast manner so we build a great training experience and the tutor can focus on training delivery. This role is not for a subject matter expert so part of the way you can support is by air-trafficking the right questions to the right person.

You’ll have responsibility for recording course attendance, reporting it to the client and to internal team for learner management and invoicing. Noting and reporting on issues arising from the training but outside of the scope of the training knowledge of which is beneficial to the client.

Support you’ll have from the team

You’ll be experienced in event management, but we’ll train you on our way of running events and the processes we’ve created to ensure smooth delivery.

You’ll have a dedicated project manager working for you in London to process materials you send back and to remind participants about the course during the week before training.

You’ll have the support of a Training Operations Manager in the planning stages for the course (logistics, and if relevant then shipping / travel / visas), as well as a Training Director for any key challenges you encounter. Separately your tutor will be supported through a fast Q&A process with other subject matter experts.

You’ll also have the option of joining the Training Director’s conference call with your sponsors; this is not intended to be part of the role but if you’d like to connect with them before the training event then there is an existing process of regular calls that you can be copied in on.

Skills you’ll need

Good project management, great organisational skills

Software: Great knowledge of Microsoft Office, ability to quickly learn new simple software packages and online services, being a confident online surfer

Confidence with using typical conference room technology (audio equipment, projectors, wireless networks etc)

Brilliant communication and social skills

Attitude we’re looking for

Being warm and positive – this is a client-facing role

Being focused on the task

Being sensitive to the needs of different cultures

Being proactive, looking ahead and able to solve problems in a calm but effective manner

Experience you’ll have

Event management and/or training operations

International travel and delivery of projects; experience of working in international cultures

Experience of working in a small company

Experience of working with senior stakeholders in large organisations

Travel

This is an international role with significant overseas commitments. As well as London and M4 corridor, recent locations have included New York, Sao Paolo, Singapore, Shanghai, Dubai, Paris, Hamburg, Rome, Moscow, Bangkok and Mumbai. The tours model aims to keep each team within one region during the tour and often in the same location. We’ve been running these types of projects for more than 10 years and have delivered our unique style of digital marketing coaching in more than 40 countries.

Reporting lines

You’ll report to the Training Director in London

From a project management perspective when in the field, the Lead Tutor will report to you; a good analogy is to think of a radio station and the relationship between the producer (who runs everything behind the scenes) and the presenter. The lead tutor’s normal reporting line is to our chief exec, who also regularly teaches.

You’ll have a dotted direct report from one office-based Academy Manager, a dedicated resource attached to each course

Sounds like you? Email your CV and covering letter to
JoinTheTeam@DigitalStrategyConsulting.com with Academy Director in the subjectline.

3 month contract with a view to perm | Soho, London

In this publishing role you’ll be managing several websites, ensuring content sent to you is published in the right places with the right tags at the right time. You’ll also be responsible for template changes and the connection of simple feeds to social media platforms. Separately you’ll be using rapid e-learning authoring tools to convert content from PowerPoint and static web pages into webinars materials.

To succeed you’ll be experienced in web publishing using CMS tools such as Moveable Type and have had enough formal training in programming to work with discipline and structure.
