Digital Directors’ Dinner report and interview – Where E-tail is heading, and why…

Ian Jindal knows his retailing inside and out, online and off. He’s the guy in a book store buying the title on Amazon while browsing the shelves. He’s the guy with the online price comparison page getting the discount in PC World. He’s the guy who lines up his Amazon orders so they arrive in the letter box one small box at a time avoiding the trek to the sorting office. He's also the guy who advises retailers on how to make money given guys like him! He talked with us about how retail is really changing, how the smartest retailers are viewing their markets, and why the big changes in pricing are yet to come.

Digital Directors’ Dinner October | Microsoft’s vision, strategy and direction

Date: Wednesday 14th October

Microsoft has pioneered opening up the web and boosting access. Internet Explorer has been the market leading browser of over a decade, their MSN business created the model for portals and now Bing is reshaping the search landscape. Our Digital Directors’ Dinners have been a great way of relaxing over a glass of wine and networking with other senior industry figures. We bring you top speakers, great food, private dining and ideas you can apply to your own business. You bring yourself and a colleague, and the chance to relax and kick back. They’re intimate affairs, and to help you get more value from them we’re now taking extra questions in advance so the speakers are singing harder for their supper.

Digital Directors’ Dinner November: Facebook: inside the world’s white-hot social media brand

From nowhere to one of the biggest sites in the world in less than 5 years. A new type of media, a new type of consumer connection, and a new type of advertising. Stephen Haines from the UK leadership team lifts the lid on what it’s like to be inside the world’s white-hot social media brand, looking at the way consumers are using the Facebook platform, and how brand marketers can harness this massive energy and audience involvement. Why have 83 of the top 100 US advertisers switched their marketing budgets into Facebook? How has targeting and profiling unlocked a new type of precision in media planning? Netimperative Director's Dinner: Online Display and Video advertising: why consumer brands are missing out; and why a blunt content subscription model will fail

To secure your place book :

Choose your ticket type:

InSkin Media CEO Hugo Drayton challenges head-on the new web publisher euphoria around paid-for subscriptions, and discusses why brands are missing out if web video ads are not on the schedule. A digital media veteran, Hugo will give candid views on why today’s web media industry is repeating the mistakes of the 90s, and show how smart marketers can achieve great results with new ad formats, rather than simply expecting readers to stump up cash for content.

This dinner will help you consider one of 2010’s hottest topics, while networking with industry peers. Hugo will use examples of well-placed, unique and successful video advertising. The consumer uptake of social networking can hugely influence consumer knowledge, engagement and interaction – and, used judiciously, can work wonders for brand building. Combining video with consumer, publisher or social media websites can bring great advertising results and consumer brand loyalty.

: Hugo joined InSkin Media as CEO early in 2009. He worked for the previous 2 years as CEO of the digital behavioural targeting company, Phorm, following his role as European MD at Advertising.com (AOL).

He is chairman of the British Internet Publishers Alliance (BIPA), and a regular contributor to industry publications and conferences.
