Poll result: Have Spotify got it right?

I ran this poll partly out of my own curiosity- just which online business model has most appeal to music fans? While most readers opted for free ad funded streaming,a quarter of respondents were tempted by mothly subscriptions- suggesting Spotify has the market covered with its dual options. Question is, can the company sustain its momentum next year and turn a profit amid costly licensing fees?

Interestingly, market leader iTunes a-la-carte option was only the third most popluar choice at 12.5%, suggesting consumers are increasingly using the web as a 'listening post' to explore and discover new music, rather than make one off purchases for tracks they are already familiar with.

Next up, were turn the same question to the tumultuous newspaper business. With online paywalls for news sites looking inevitable, is 2010 really going to be the year of micro-payments, as Murdoch hopes? Vote for you preferred payment model here. I'm expecting some interesting results...
