Election Poll- Tories top dogs for digital

Just as with the real election, it seems Netimperative readers are split over which party is best for the digital sector, with the Tories taking a narrow victory. The Conservatives certainly won the most plaudits in the run up to the election with their strong social media and search strategies- along with their promise to scrap the 50p broadband tax.

Meanwhile, the Lib Dems proved far more popular in our polls than they did in the real thing, trumping Labour with their digital policies. A cynical 15% of readers felt that no party would make any difference, while The Pirate Party, set up as the 'political party for the digital age', garnered a respectable 10% of the vote for their focus on new media.

The question now is where the Coalition will stand on the unpopular digital Economy act, and how much help will they give the start-ups in the digital sector?
