Unscheduled downtime on DigitalStrategyConsulting.com

20 October 2007

For a few hours this afternoon, the server that relays requests to the content server on the Digital Strategy website had such a massive volume of requests, it thought it was experiencing a denial of service attack. This didn’t affect any of the online learning resources, or the other websites we run, but it did prove to be one of the most taxing challenges the network engineers had seen.

Unscheduled downtime of DigitalStrategyConsulting.com

15-16 September 2007

Our web analytics and data tracking tools are remotely managed by a team developing a new model for website service delivery. It's an experimental project and we're a development partner for a pioneering young technology firm. But pioneering isn't without risk.

Restricted email connectivity from Digital staff and Associates

July 2007

Thanks to Craig and Matt on the IT team, we've discovered that our ISP (part of the BT group in the UK) has been restricting our bandwidth, causing slow migration of files. Our bandwidth for office connectivity should give us more than 8megs, but tests today revealed less than 1meg. The fault seems to have resolved itself now but we are monitoring it and interested whether other companies have had a similar experience with BT.

Many thanks
