Ryanair has announced that its new mobile app has been downloaded 1m times in the first 10 days since launch. The app includes a mobile boarding pass function and forms part of Ryanair's strategy to improve customer services, following the company's first reported drop in profits for five years, in May.

Ryanair is also making its online booking process simpler, and introducing a "fare finder" feature on its website to help consumers find the lowest fares more easily.
Ryanair's latest quarterly results posted a net profit of €197m (£156m), a 152% year-on-year rise, though the firm admitted that the results were "distorted by a very strong Easter", with no comparable vacation period in 2013.
