Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ is no longer the most-watched video on YouTube, after spending five years in the top spot, according to official stats.
The South Korean track has finally been taken over by another music video belonging to Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.
The duo’s ‘See You Again‘ has now been played 2,895,373,709 times on the site, which beats ‘Gangnam Style’s current 2,894,426,475 views (as of July 11th 2017).
‘See You Again’ was released in 2015 as part of the Fast & Furious 7 soundtrack in tribute to Paul Walker after he tragically died in a car accident.
The song also claimed the title of most streams in a single day on Spotify last year, reaching 4.2 million listens in one day and an impressive 12.9 million in a week – a record which has since been surpassed by One Direction’s ‘Drag Me Down’ and then Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’.
Meanwhile, in third place on YouTube’s most viewed list is Justin Bieber’s ‘Sorry’ with 2,635,572,161 views, followed by Mark Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ (ft Bruno Mars) and Luis Fonsi’s ‘Despacito’ (ft Daddy Yankee) with 2,550,545,717 and 2,482,502,747 respectively.
Other stars rounding out the top ten are Taylor Swift with ‘Shake It Off’ and ‘Blank Space’, Enrique Iglesias’ ‘Bailando’, Maroon 5 with ‘Sugar’, and Katy Perry’s ‘Roar’.
