With Black Friday becoming a huge shopping day in the U.K., retailer marketers increased their spend on search advertising by 88% year-on-year on Black Friday in 2014 according to new research.


The latest data from Kenshoo found that in 2013, overall U.K. retail search spend increased 44% from Thursday to Black Friday but this year that increase jumped to 145%.
That also works out to an increase of 88% year-over-year for Black Friday itself, compared to just an 11% increase for the day before.
