Britons are increasingly using their mobile devices to access the internet – but new research shows that they are being let down by companies, who are not optimising their sites for smartphones and tablets., according to this new infographic from Eptica.


52% of 1,000 consumers surveyed for the 2013 Eptica Mobile Customer Experience Study said that over half the websites they visited weren’t optimised for mobile devices. 16% had difficulties with the majority of sites they tried to access.
Other findings in the research were:
• 36% complained of a lack of functionality on mobile sites and apps compared to standard sites
• 34% pointed to slow loading speeds as an issue when on mobile devices
• 34% also said that sites that were not optimised for smaller screens
• Women were happier overall with the mobile experience with 54% saying that over half of sites were optimised for their devices, compared to just 42% of men
